Reader’s Theater
Reader’s Theater is a reading strategy that allows children to merge a child’s love of playing, performing, and the all important skill of oral reading.
- At My Nursery Children read individually, or in small groups, from a script appropriate for their reading or grade level. Reader’s Theater is usually performed with minimal costumes and props, and is often only suggestive of props within scripts. When performing Reader’s Theater, students are not expected to memorize lines, so they perform while they’re reading from their script.
