HANDWASHING

• Children together with the staffs are expected to observe proper hand washing:
• Before, during, and after preparing food
• Before eating food
• Before and after caring for someone who is sick
• Before and after treating a cut or wound
• After using the toilet
• After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
• After touching garbage

Hand washing procedures are posted in the changing areas, toilets, kitchen sink and other common washing areas.  Handwashing techniques are taken from WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION or CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL. 

USE OF PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPEMTS    

-Strict compliance for the use of personal protective measures for the staffs in the class  – medical mask , googles or face shield and gloves all the time .     

-Staffs can remove face mask if facial expression required but face shield should be there at the same time .    

-Strict compliance of face mask and shoe covers for the visitors who are going inside school premises.

-School health and safety officer is ensuring the use of mask by the staffs during the daily health and safety rounds.

-Promoting education to the staffs regarding proper use of personal protective measures and enforcing not to touch the face mask all the time.

TOY SANITATION

It is imperative to sanitize the toys being used by the children.  The purpose of sanitizing is to kill bacterial germs or contaminants with the goal of reducing the number of them on the toys or materials.   Bleach/water solutions are fresh and mixed every day. Person in charge should see to it that this solution must be out of reach of the children at all times.  Cleaning products are kept in a restricted room.

CLASSROOM HHYGEINE

Children should bring their own washed pillow and blankets on daily basis .

Bed sanitation-Children are provided with personalized beds with name tags Beds are washed regularly and dried under the sun to kill lingering germs Soiled beds are immediately washed and dry under the sun.

Disinfection of bed after each use.

Room hygiene :

All classrooms are provided with disposable gloves, tissue boxes and sanitizers.

Emphasizing more on hand washing.     

Classroom  hygiene attendances posted on the doors to be filled by the cleaners and inspected by the safety officer .

Furniture  hygiene :

Children are provided with personalized chairs with name tags.

Chairs and tables are getting cleaned and disinfected after each use and deep cleaning at the end of the day.

Floor hygiene :

Floors are cleaning with bleach solution –mixing refer to ANNEX 1

TOILET ATTENDANCES

Toilet hygiene attendances  are posted on toilets to be filled up by the cleaner.

Toilet cleanliness is maintained and should be kept dry at all times.

Toilets are provided with disposable paper towels, disposable gloves , sanitizers hand soap and foot pedal trash bins for medical and non medical wastes .

Deep cleaning and disinfection at the end of the day with DM approved disinfectant solution .

Daily refilling of hand sanitizers and hand soap to be done by the cleaners .

WASTE DISPOSAL

 All classrooms, toilets and other common areas are provided with foot operated garbage bins.

Waste collection is being done by the cleaner after meals, at the end of the day and as necessary.

 All waste products must be disposed of to a licensed waste disposal site via a registered carrier.

 PEST CONTROL

Pest control is being carried out by a company in contract with Kinderville for pest control agreement every other month or as necessary.   The pest control comes at the end of the school week on the specified scheduled appointment. 

INFECTION/COMMUNICABLE DISEASES MANAGEMENT 

Initial assessment is being done by the health care team and child is referred to see the physician for further check up and diagnosis.  Once diagnosed or confirmed with a disease that can be contagious, parent is responsible to inform the center. Child is advised to stay home until he or she is free from communicability.  The day care reserves the right to request for a doctor’s notes or a medical clearance with a reasonable cause.

POLICY and DHA REGULATION EXCLUSION TO NURSERY LIST. 

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE?

All staffs which includes members, management and health care team are responsible
to adhere to the policy. Every member of the team should ensure that an individual who has communicable disease (please refer to DHA REGULATION EXCLUSION TO NURSERY LIST) should be excluded from the center for the recommended period stated by the exclusion table from DHA and as advised by attending physician. Staff member who receives the child upon arrival should report to the nurse if suspects that the child is unwell or if parents have informed staff members that the child is sick.  The nurse is responsible to check the child and informs parents if child should stay at home whenever child is too ill to participate in all day care activities.

 DEEP CLEANING AND DISINFECTION :

 MY NURSERY is ensuring deep cleaning and disinfection schedule at the end of every day to ensure the proper control of infection among kids.

 Deep cleaning attendances posted on the doors and it should be done by the cleaners and supervised by the health and safety officers. Ensuring daily disinfection of all the areas ( classrooms, toilet , kitchen, hallways, reception , isolation room, clinic , janitor room , laundry ) Deep cleaning once in every week by the cleaners and disinfection after the cleaning . 

 Disinfection and deep cleaning  of the areas contaminated with body fluids or vomits .
